Laser Mouse Problem

I have a problem that I haven't seen asked about before. On my microsoft laser mouse, I have a 'thumb' button that I use when I want the magnifier to come up. It would always take a while to 'work' after first booting up but I suspect that was due to all the other programs loading. The problem Now is that .. The Only way to get it to work is to go to my Control Panel, click on the mouse icon, wait for the mouse page to come up and then click OK! All of the other functions of...

Blog: My first time at the gun range(IN)

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - I can think of no other way to begin this blog post than being completely honest: I hate guns. More accurately, I think, I am afraid of guns. I have no qualms with the second amendment, but the last few days leading up to tonight's police academy class have filled me with a mixture of about 25 percent excitement and 75 percent anxiety. About two hours ago, I locked and loaded a .40 caliber handgun and fired a bullet for the first time. It was at once scarier and easier than I expected. Through Purdue's police...

SENIOR CITIZENS SLINGIN’ SIXGUNS

One of my favorite stops on my teaching tour every year is the Sand Burr Gun Ranch in Rochester, Indiana. The facility is a shooting park with rustic classroom, five ranges, and a gun shop that makes you feel as if you’ve taken a time machine back to the 1950s. Founder Denny Reichard does his gunsmithing there, doing action smoothing work that’s as good as you’ll find anywhere in the world. The resident teaching crew, for the most part, are gun geezers, and they carry classic Smith & Wesson large caliber revolvers. Well, “when in Rome…” For the first of...

Gun law sparks battle (IN)

* FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Indiana's Governor and one of Fort Wayne's former mayors see eye-to-eye on many issues. Gun control is not one of them. On February 23, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence released its annual report card on gun control laws. Indiana failed. "Every year we look at all 50 states and give them a score in terms of what gun laws they have in place. What do they do to make it harder for dangerous people to get guns? What do they do for keeping children from getting guns? It's a 100 point scale....

On the FRC Action website, the organization explains that the 20 targeted Democrats are “those so called ‘pro-life’ Democrats who seemed destined to heroism when they joined forces with Bart Stupak on a House bill that would have precluded any use federal dollars for abortion, but who caved under White House and Democrat leadership.”Rep. Lawmaker Wants Promise Indy Won't Limit Gun Rights(IN)

INDIANAPOLIS -- A City-County councilor said he wants to ensure Indianapolis won't pass ordinances limiting gun owners' rights. Councilor Ed Coleman drafted a proposal he intends to present on Monday partly in response to Otis McDonald v. Chicago, a case now before the U.S. Supreme Court, 6News' Joanna Massee reported. McDonald is fighting to be able to keep a handgun in his home, even though Chicago bans handguns within city limits. The case will likely have wider implications and could determine if state and local gun-control ordinances can be struck down as violating the "right to keep and bear arms"...

KIDD AT PLAY: Ind. gun law passage is victory for Second Amendment

In a world where the average citizen’s Second Amendment rights are constantly being undermined, we need all the help we can get. For the time being, we’re safe — at least in Indiana. Well, as long as you leave your firearm in your car at work or the government declares a state of emergency that leaves law enforcement and military resources stretched thin. On Feb. 22, the Indiana Senate voted 41-9 to pass House Bill 1065, also known as the Indiana Emergency Powers Bill. The bill prevents law enforcement and military personnel from confiscating legally owned firearms and ammunition from...
